FREE PLAN - Fence Plan
Why a Fence?
There are many reasons people put up fences. Decoration, privacy, security, or child and pet containment are the main reasons but  whatever your needs, the fence should be pleasing to the eye and compliment your property.  Author Robert Frost is credited with the saying "Good fences make good neighbors" and even if it doesn't make a good neighbor, if it looks architecturally pleasing it will certainly help to make a happy one.

FREE PLAN - Dory

Picture courtesy of NOAA. Click on the picture to enlarge it.

East meets west.
This working, fishing dory; a classic East Coast design, is used every day by commercial fishermen at Newport Beach in sunny California. I remember these same boats well from a trip there over twenty years ago and they are still going strong. Every morning the fishermen would return to shore (running these amazing boats at full speed right on to the beach) with their catch and sell their fish at the nearby fisherman's market.

In its most popular form, the East Coast Dory was created in New England fishing towns sometime after the early 18th century. Some kind of Dory boat was in use on the Massachusetts coast as early as 1726. A definite precursor to the Dory type was the early French bateau type, a flat bottom boat with straight sides used as early as 1671 on the Saint Lawrence River.  Read more about the Dory in Wikipedia.

FREE PLAN - Mini Barn Shed

Why a Shed?
Tool and equipment storage is often overlooked when planning for the care of lawns and gardens. Most homeowners do not realize the need for planning storage space until their garage, basement or utility room becomes so cluttered they can no longer find anything. Or they might realize it when the newly purchased riding lawnmower is too wide for the doorway into the existing storage.

How Big Should It Be?
The first step in planning lawn and garden equipment storage is to list those items that need to be stored. You should also list those items which may be added later. This sounds elementary, but too many homeowners are surprised at the variety of tools, equipment and supplies which must be stored.Another useful planning technique is to draw the proposed storage area to scale and sketch some possible storage arrangements within that space. Once the list is complete and some rough sketches prepared, you can estimate whether existing space is adequate or
additional space will be required.
